Haenyeo (Pearl divers) They are all women and dive up to 20 meters without oxygen and can stay down for as long as 4 minutes. They are all aged between 50 and 70 now and getting small in number as young women no longer want to do this. They dive mostly for seafood.















Just a nice view. Jeju- do was such a relief from the extremely dreary winter on the peninsula. Many non-Koreans living here miss green grass and wonder why there is none here.
There are grasses of course but not of lawn variety and it all goes brown in the winter.
